For this back-to-school event, Apple should present its future range iPhone 14but also three new versions of its Apple Watch connected watch.

The firm is regulated like clockwork and takes advantage each year of the month of September to present its first novelties to us, a few weeks before the extremely lucrative period of the end of year celebrations. His event seems entirely geared towards the general public with the iPhone as the main course.

The iPhone 14 will, in all likelihood, be the real star of this keynote. For this new vintage, the Californian manufacturer would have in its boxes four smartphones, gathered in two ranges: the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro.

The iPhone 14 would be available in two versions: a classic 6.1 inch, and 6.7 inch for the iPhone 14 Max. Exit therefore the 5.5-inch iPhone mini which has not been able to make its mark with consumers looking for ever larger screens. Smartphones would only evolve marginally from a design point of view, except for new colors prepared by Apple and renewed each year according to trends.

The iPhone 14 would also retain an A15 processor, the same as the iPhone 13 today. The evolutions of the camera modules should also be carried out at the margin, and the notch at the front which integrates Face ID facial recognition should be kept. It may nevertheless be that the iPhone 14 adopts a 120 Hz screen to offer real novelty to users, but this smartphone would in fact be a simple smooth evolution of the previous model.

The iPhone 14 Pro would be the one that would offer the most improvements in order to clearly distinguish the two ranges. First expected novelty: the disappearance of the notch, apparently replaced this year by a punch for the front camera and a pill for the Face ID sensor.

The iPhone screen would also offer an Always-On feature that would perfectly accommodate the new widgets available in the future iOS 16. The refresh rate would still be 120 Hz.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max would also benefit from a faster A16 processor and a default storage of 256 GB. The main camera would increase to 48 megapixels, a first for the iPhone, with the possibility of filming in 8K. There is also talk of an update to the front lens with built-in autofocus.

If iPhone 14 prices aren’t expected to budge, the iPhone 14 Pro could see a price hike of $100 from last year’s iPhone 13 Pro, and likely more in Eurozone countries.

Apple Watch: renewal and a new model for daredevils

The Apple Watch will be the other star of this presentation with potentially three new models announced on stage by Tim Cook and his teams.

Let’s move quickly on the Apple Watch SE which should be updated after two years of good and loyal service. We can hope for a more powerful processor and faster charging, but its design should remain the same with sizes of 40 and 44 mm in order to limit the price of the connected watch. The Apple Watch Series 3 should also retire this year, since it is no longer compatible with the next watchOS 9 update.

The Apple Watch Series 8 should offer an identical design to the Series 7 and its slightly larger screen as well as a temperature sensor to detect a fever in the user. For the rest, the processor should be identical, and the autonomy would be 18 hours.

The real novelty of the range should be the Apple Watch Pro, which would introduce a new design that is more robust and able to withstand shocks during a hike or a trip to the mountains. We are talking about a 50 mm screen and a material stronger than aluminum, possibly titanium. Who says Pro model, says rising price, with an Apple Watch that could be close to 800 to 1,000 euros.

AirPods Pro 2: finally the end of the wait?

It’s been almost three years since the AirPods Pro came out, and Apple could take advantage of its event to unveil the successors to its wireless noise-canceling headphones.

These AirPods Pro 2 could sport an identical design with stems for noise reduction control. Apple could also present a new audio codec that would allow the transmission of high-resolution audio, starting with a good part of the Apple Music catalog, available in lossless for several months, but unreadable in this format on all Apple headphones available today. today.

The AirPods 2 could also offer, according to several rumors, fitness tracking features as well as a slightly thinner charging case with a USB-C port.
