How to install fonts and new fonts on Mac

Where to find different fonts
The first thing you should keep in mind is that in order to install a font on a Mac, you need to download it to your device. Therefore, the first step is to find, search and download the font you want, and there are many options for this, in particular, various web pages on which you can find an almost unlimited number of different types of fonts. Here are the four options we recommend.
First of all, at the very Apple official fonts are available, so you can install them and thus use the same font as Apple uses in its various media and advertisements.
Just like Apple makes different fonts available to users, Google does the same through Google Fonts, where users can download different fonts to install on their devices.
Another of the most popular font types is dafont, it offers a huge number of fonts on its website that are available to download and install on your Mac.
Finally, another highly recommended option is the 1001freefonts website, where, like dafont, you have a great search engine for fonts that are completely available to download and install on your Mac.
Follow these steps to install new fonts.
Once you’ve downloaded the font or fonts you want to install on your Mac, the installation process is really simple. After downloading the font type, you will have an executable file available. What you need to do is double-click the font in Finder and then click Install Font in the pop-up window. After the Mac verifies the font you want to install and opens the Font Catalog app, the font is installed and available for use in any application.
This is how you can disable fonts
Just like you can install different fonts to use on a Mac, you can deactivate them if you don’t want them to appear in different applications, but you don’t want to completely remove them from your device.
To do this, you just need to select a font from the font directory, click Change and then Deactivate. This way, the selected font will remain installed, but will not appear in the application’s font menu.
For fonts that are disabled, Disable will appear next to their name in the font directory. If at any time you want to reactivate the specified font, you simply need to click the font, click Change, and then Download. This will give you a usable font again that was previously deactivated.
Don’t want a font? Take it away
We’ve covered where you can get different fonts, how to install them on your Mac, and how to disable those fonts. Finally, we’ll see how you can permanently remove a font from your Mac.
