Instagram will allow live donations

As of this Tuesday (28), the Instagram will allow fundraising campaigns to be done on live streams. The amount raised with these initiatives will be destined to a non-profit organization (NGO) chosen by the creators of the actions.
“Many people are facing challenges right now, and we want to do our part to help nonprofits and communities most in need,” said the platform in an official release of the resource.
The functionality will be available in the app’s Live button. Instagram (or by swiping your finger to the right and finding the option in the selector). Then, all you have to do is choose an NGO to start a campaign.
During the broadcast it will also be possible to see how many people are supporting your project and the amount raised in real time. The social network will also allow a thank you to supporters to be made by tapping the “Wave” button.

This way, the image will be automatically added to a shared story or in front of the story bar for a limited period. To the website gadget, Vishal Shaf (Head of Products at Facebook) highlighted that in the future there are plans to expand campaigns to help companies, people or other initiatives.
The project also includes exploring the resource as a monetization route for content producers in the Instagram and other social networks from the Zuckerberg company. “We think there’s this very powerful ecosystem between creators and companies and their fans and followers,” said Shaf.
