Same design with only one difference: the size
The new generation of the Redmi series Note It comes with a design that traces the appearance of the Xiaomi Mi A3. Like much of Xiaomi devices, the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro have a body made of metal and glass accompanied by a notch in the form of a drop of water and quite small margins. Xiaomi talks about figures that exceed 91% in terms of use of frontal surface.
As for the screen, it uses a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel in the case of Note 8 and 6.53 inches in the case of the Pro model, which makes Redmi Note 8 in a more compact terminal: around 0.5 and 0.2 mm difference in height and width.
It should also be noted that both phones have IP52 splash protection. Another aspect to highlight has to do with the fingerprint sensor, which this time happens to be located at the rear of the terminal; specifically under the cameras.
Processors: one of lime and one of sand
The great mystery that hid the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro before its presentation came from the hand of the processor. A processor that for the first time in the history of the brand happens to feed on two different manufacturers: Mediatek and Qualcomm. Specifically, the Redmi Note 8 has a Snapdragon 665 processor; the same as the Xiaomi Mi A3.
As for his counterpart, he uses a Mediatek G90T processor with 6 and 8 GB of RAM. For its part, the basic model consists of 4 and 6 GB of RAM. In both cases the storage versions start from 64 and 128 GB, and the storage is expandable through micro SD cards: The differences in connectivity, of course, are practically non-existent, since in both devices we find Bluetooth 5.0 connections , Dual band WiFi and FM radio.
Where we do find a more tangible difference is in the battery. A battery that in the case of the Pro model It consists of a 4,500 mAh module, while in the base version the figure remains at 4,000. Both have a load of 18 W.
The top? midrange cameras
The reason for being two new models presented by Xiaomi has a name: the camera, or rather, the cameras, as they have up to four sensors in the back and one in the front.
The main difference between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro resides in the main sensor. And while the Pro model opts for a 64 megapixel sensor, the base model has the traditional 48 megapixel sensor (probably the same as the Redmi Note 7).
The rest of the sensors use the same cameras, consisting of three 8, 2 and 2 megapixel modules with wide angle and telephoto lenses and focal aperture f / 2.2, f / 2.4 and f / 2.4. The last sensor uses its functions to improve the photographs in portrait mode, as Xiaomi has detailed in the main presentation.
As for the front camera, this is composed of a 20 megapixel module in the case of Pro and 13 in the case of Note 8. In both the focal aperture is f / 2.0.
