LEGO Super Mario has details and release date revealed

Nintendo and LEGO announced a partnership to develop products inspired by the franchise’s games super Mario. The project aims to generate more interactivity through components that simulate a “real” gameplay and LCD screen parts that emit sounds. Further details regarding the toys were also revealed, such as scenarios, prices and release date.

The first set, “Starter Course”, will represent one of the best-known stages of the series and will have the objective of crossing an obstacle course to overcome the proposed challenges. In this part, the figures available will be: Mario, Bowser Jr., Goomba, Shy Guy and Yoshi. The pieces are already on pre-sale in the United States for US$ 59.90 and will be distributed from August 1st. Check out the promotional video:

Ahead, other simple packages to enhance the scenarios can be purchased, with the value of US$ 14.99. There will also be two extra and more elaborate sets, “Piranha Plant Power Slide” and “Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle,” which will cost $29.99 and $99.99, respectively. Thus, additional figures Piranha Plantas, Koopa Troopa, Bowser, Dry Bones, Boo and other variants will be available, but no confirmed date yet.

“I’ve always liked LEGO products and how they help kids use their imaginations to play,” said Takashi Tezuka, executive director and game producer at Nintendo Co., Ltd. “The new product seeks to combine two different styles of play: one where you freely build the world of Mario and the other where you play with him in the story we developed,” he added.

In addition to toys, a free app will be launched to store the scores obtained and offer different construction options. Through it, players will also be able to share ideas with friends.
