Marvel’s Avengers: dataminers find code from other heroes in beta

the beta of Marvel’s Avengers on PS4 started on August 7th only for players who secured the title in pre-order. With the game’s availability on the console, some dataminers wasted no time in mining the game’s files for news; they found codes referring to She-Hulk, War Machine and Kate Bishop.

It has already been confirmed by Square Enix that the roster of heroes would increase over time. Through DLC Avengers Initiative, the developer will add 4 more heroes, with Hawkeye being the first of them. Apparently, She-Hulk, War Machine and Kate Bishop may be the 3 remaining heroes of the cast — not officially announced.

However, it is noteworthy that the codes do not mean that these heroes, in fact, will be playable characters. Archives discovered by dataminers may also be collectibles or other additions to the title.

In addition to the confirmed cast such as Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America, Kamala Khan and Hawkeye, the PlayStation 4 version will also feature Spider-Man as its exclusive hero.

After this initial testing period on PlayStation 4, the closed beta will hit Xbox One and PC on August 14th — also for those who pre-ordered. The open beta will be available free of charge for all platforms on August 21st.

Marvel’s Avengers will be released on September 4th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia and PC. Stay tuned on Voxel for more information!
