Meta makes it easier to switch between Facebook and Instagram profiles

Easily navigate between your Facebook and Instagram accounts

Meta unveils a new interface to switch more easily between its Facebook and Instagram accounts. To take advantage of this new feature, users must have added their Instagram and Facebook profiles in the same Accounts Center.

As you can see in the image above, the number of notifications will be indicated for each of your accounts to facilitate your activity monitoring. This new experience is being tested globally on iOS and Android, and also on the web.

Create multiple profiles from a single login

Meta also makes it easy to create accounts: “New users of our products can create a Facebook or Instagram account and then use that account to sign up for others. »

The firm also allows users to connect to a Facebook account using their Instagram account login information, and vice versa. Again, the profiles must be part of the same Accounts area.

These new features are being tested worldwide on iOS and Android.

What’s new to maximize engagement?

By facilitating the switch between Facebook and Instagram accounts, Meta is trying to streamline the experience between its 2 flagship applications. This could in particular help maintain engagement on Facebook, when we know that the platform recorded a loss of 2 million monthly active users in the second quarter of 2022.

On the other hand, by simplifying the creation of several accounts for a user, Meta wants to allow its users to personalize their experience on its applications, and at the same time, encourage them to post more content. Last July, a test was launched by Meta to create up to 5 profiles per Facebook account.

With the same objective of developing engagement, Meta has also recently focused on developing functionalities to create Communities, on Facebook but also on WhatsApp.
