The smartphone has become a mature product over the years. It should be understood by this that innovations are now slower, as well as the differences between each device. A good way to differentiate them for brands is therefore to work on the user interface and integrated services. This is what Xiaomi is doing with its MIUI interface, from which version 13 is now expected.

Towards a launch of MIUI 13 on June 25

The information comes straight from the Chinese site of AnTuTu, the benchmark application, which indicates that Xiaomi is targeting June 25 for the release of its new interface. This is a very plausible date since MIUI 12 was launched around the same time in 2020. The presentation took place at the end of April, but the rollout only started in June after a period of beta. opened.

We do not know more about MIUI 13 for the moment and in particular on the content of this update. Xiaomi is still rolling out the MIUI 12.5 update unveiled at the end of 2020, so you’ll have to be patient to learn more about the new software. We are just talking about changes in system animations and management of the wallpaper.

Which smartphones compatible with MIUI 13?

The AnTuTu site does not provide a list of smartphones compatible with MIUI 13, but list several smartphones who would be deprived of the update: Xiaomi Mi 9, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Redmi Note 8 and Redmi 8. These are smartphones which were released in 2019 in France, and Xiaomi is more used to bringing its MIUI updates on smartphones much older. It would be surprising to see the Chinese manufacturer change its strategy.

Android 10 has a new website explaining its novelties

Let’s take this list with a grain of salt for now. If it were to be confirmed, one may wonder why Xiaomi is abandoning smartphones also recent. Is it because MIUI 13 is a bigger update? Or because Xiaomi is also starting to saturate.
