No difference between 1440p and 1080p in battery test

Many of Samsung’s and Huawei’s phones allow users to lower the resolution to reduce power consumption. The idea is that the pressure on the graphics part and the processor should be reduced as they need to process fewer pixels.

However, according to a battery test on YouTube, where a robot arm performs the same tasks on two Galaxy S10+ at 1440p and 1080p respectively, the difference in battery life is non-existent. The same test was run on the smaller sibling Galaxy S10 and dropping to a lower resolution didn’t improve battery life there either.

In other words, according to the test, it is just as good to use 1440p for increased sharpness, then lowering to 1080p does not result in extended battery life.
