PS5: 3D audio technology will be compatible with most helmets

PS5 3D sound

The PS5 will offer several innovative features in the field of home consoles. This will be the case, for example, with 3D audio, which should enhance immersion in many games.

In addition to betting on logically more detailed graphics, the PS5 will also try to offer new ways of feeling the events that will take place during a game. This is why the DualSense embeds haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. But the sensations will also pass through the sound.

Always more immersion

In a recent article published on the PlayStation Blog, Sony recalled that the PS5 will welcome Tempest 3D AudioTech technology. To take advantage of 3D sound, players can equip themselves with a Pulse 3D wireless headset (€99) which will exploit this feature perfectly.

The Japanese brand has reassured players who already have headphones since most models will be compatible with 3D audio by connecting them to the console via a USB cable or directly to the controller using the 3.5 mm headphone output. Among the compatible games, we find Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demons Souls, Gran Turismo 7and many others.

Virtual surround sound will also be broadcast through our television speakers. However, this feature will not be available when the PS5 launches on November 19.
