Qualcomm believes that the deployment of 5G networks is happening at a faster rate than with 4G and it has been proposed to “democratize” the 5G connection bringing this technology to the Snapdragon 7 series and even Snapdragon 6.
Qualcomm has confirmed today that it plans to release a chip from the Snapdragon 7 series mid-range with a 5G modem integrated in the fourth quarter of 2019, and several suppliers are working with the designs.
In addition, Qualcomm has also confirmed that the Snapdragon 6 series will incorporate 5G in the second half of 2020.
The next processor will be 7 nm and will have a 5G type X55 modem with support for SA, NSA and even millimeter waves. The millimeter waves (mmWaves) offer incredible speeds and allow you to take advantage of the full potential of 5G.
Manufacturers like Oppo, Realme, Redmi, Vivo, Motorola, HMD and LG have confirmed that they plan to incorporate the new Qualcomm 5G processors into their mid-range devices with the Snapdragon 7 series.
