Signal can now send more high-resolution images

Signal is the fourth most popular way to send messages in the Swedroid community, according to a survey earlier this year. Facebook Messenger came in first with 31 percent of the vote, followed by SMS and WhatsApp.

One of the advantages of modern messaging services is the ability to send more high-resolution images. However, the material is still compressed before sending and so are videos. Signal now offers the ability to send more high-resolution images, up to 4K.

However, users need to manually select the higher resolution option when sending images. The app points out that the higher image quality requires higher data traffic.
