Upload: Amazon renews sci-fi series for season 2

Exactly one week after debuting on Amazon Prime Video, the series Upload got the green light for season two. In a press release, creator and producer Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) commented on the renewal of the program.

“I am thrilled to continue a great relationship with Amazon Studios and this wonderful cast,” reveals Daniels. “With this news, I can stop drafting season two in my notebook.”

Located in 2033, Upload mixes science fiction with comedy. Viewers follow the story of young developer Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell). After dying in an accident, he has his memories loaded into a “digital afterlife”.

In this way, dead people continue to live with the living in a kind of virtual reality. So, the protagonist lives in a place called Lakeview, a special space that belongs to the rich family of girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards).

Nathan enlists the help of Nora Anthony (Andy Allo) as a guide inside the new environment. In this case, the character is the manager of the space in which the protagonist lives. Soon, they develop an amazing friendship for both of them.

Positive response from the public and the Amazon

Jennifer Salke, director of Amazon Studios, also talked about the renewal of Upload in the press release. According to the executive, the studio is very happy with the attraction and, because of that, it decided to invest in the second season.

“Greg Daniels delivered an intelligent and intriguing comedy. Clearly, she delighted our customers who spent a lot of time at Lakeview last week,” he said. “So, we understand that fans want to see the next chapters in this story. Just as we are excited that the series has found such a dedicated audience.”
