Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is already under development

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 that you still can’t buy (by the way, watch out for scams) may already be almost obsolete. Indeed, Huami made it known to be already at work on Mi Band 5, which will arrive next year.

Mi Band 5 is already under development

Huami is one of Xiaomi’s main subsidiaries and is responsible for producing the famous Xiaomi Mi Band on behalf of the Chinese giant. During the Q&A session (Question and Answer) which took place on the sidelines of the presentation of the economic data of Q2 2019 it emerged that Huami would already be working on the next Mi Band model.

To the explicit question on the subject, not only the answer was affirmative, but also quite eloquent. This is the comment of Wang Huang, president and founder of Huami:

We have not yet decided on the launch period of Mi Band 5, but I can confirm that we have already started working on Mi Band 5 with Xiaomi and it won’t take long. We know we have just launched Mi-Band 4, but – regardless of this – we’re working to launch Mi-Band 5 next year.

Of course, it is a vague answer and certainly not full of details, but it is clear: Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is in the plans, indeed it is already in development. There is no doubt about this. It is natural to ask what will characterize the next model of an ultra-cheap (and much-desired) activity tracker, but we are aware that it is still too early to try to discover the features.
